JONES Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville, LA Services for Mr. Jerry Devon Jones, 78, of Mangham, LA, will be held at 10 :00 AM Saturday, July 5, 2008 at Mulhearn Chapel with Rev. John Holdiness, Jr. and Rev. Troy J. Dennard officiating. Internment to follow in Gwin Cemetery Mangham, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville, LA. Mr. Jerry, as he was commonly referred to by friends, was a life long resident of Mangham. He was a car dealer for many years in Delhi and Rayville. He did a little of "everything" throughout his life including farming, cotton ginning and trucking. If you sat down to visit with him you never left without learning something or knowing that he knew something more about you that he always remembered. He was preceded in death by his parents H. T. and Eva Dee Jones, a daughter Rhonda Jones Stothart and a granddaughter Jessica VanMatre Schatz. He is survived by his son Bobby Jones and his wife Debbie of Mangham, LA; daughters, Stephanie VanMatre and her husband Barry of Denver, CO, and Rebecca Jones of New Light, LA; a sister, Sylvia Jones of Bossier City, LA; the mother of his children, Faye Jones of Sicily Island, LA. Known lovingly as "Daddy Boy", he is also survived by his grandchildren, Shady, Courtney, Lindsey, Kaitlyn, Rob and Will as well as two great grandsons Ben and Roman. Special note is made to Betty Cannon, Monroe, LA, his friend of many years. Pallbearers will be Richard Picou, Jr, Johnny Roy Lambert, Tommy Lowery, Wayne Lord, Rickey Donnell and Noble Ellington, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Bonner, E. D. Elmore, David Bell, Charles Tillman and Jimmy Logan. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM Friday and 9 :00 AM until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
