DOROTHY S.L. TYLER JONES

Dorothy S L Tyler Jones was born on April 16, 1912, to Maggie and Jake Tyler in 
Latanier, LA. At the age of 14, SL married Kirby Jones. They worked side by 
side raising a family of three daughters. Eventually they settled in Rayville, 
LA in a weathered gray framed house that they made their home. After the loss 
of her beloved husband, SL moved to West Monroe, LA. Following a mild injury in 
2011, she then moved to Jonesboro, LA to make her home with her daughter, 
Velma. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Kirby Jones; daughter, 
Margie Bryant and parents and all her brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Dorothy S L Tyler Jones, 103, of Jonesboro, LA will be 
held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, January 9, 2016 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral 
Home West Monroe. Pastor Gary Phillips and Jeremie Dark will be officiating. 
Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Winnsboro, LA under the direction 
of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Dorothy is survived by her 2 children; Monnie Vanderslice and husband Charles 
and Velma Dark; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great 
grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeremie Dark, Jeffrey Dark, Paul Bryant, J.D. Sandifer, 
Seth Dark and Ryan Miletello.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 11:00 AM until service 
time at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
