KEATING Memorial services for Harold E. Keating, 91, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, November 11, 2015, in the chapel at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Johnny Funderburg and Rev. Ben McGehee officiating. Interment will be held in the Fort Smith National Cemetery in Arkansas at a later date. Mr. Keating was born in Fort Worth, TX on January 29, 1924 and passed away Saturday, November 7, 2015, in Monroe, LA. He graduated from Riverside High School and attended West Texas State College on a Basketball scholarship before joining the U. S. Marine Corps in 1942. He married his high school sweetheart, Katie Lou Byers in 1946 and finished his schooling at Texas Wesleyan University. He moved to Monroe in 2009 upon the death of his wife to be near his daughter and family. Mr. Keating was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Keating; father, Jerimiah Keating; mother, Grace Queen; and brothers, J.D. Keating and wife Ruth, and George Keating. Survivors include his daughter, Kay Flickinger and husband Jim; granddaughter, Denise Beach and husband Jeff; grandson, David Flickinger and wife Jennifer; great grandchildren, Chelsea McGaha (Denise), Kaitlynn McGaha (Denise), Krew Flickinger (David), step-great grandchildren Garrett Beach and Reagan Beach; nieces, Susan Smith, Karen Connally; and great nieces and nephews, Christine Villavisencio and husband Victor, Michelle Mitchell and husband Scott, and Dylan Connally. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff at Azalea Estates and those special people at Avalon Place for their loving care.
