KENNETH W. KEIL, JR., M.D

Services for Kenneth W. Keil, Jr. M.D., 46, of West Monroe, LA, will be at 
10:00 a.m. Monday July 20, 1998, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellevue, 
Iowa with Rev. Daniel Knepper officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph 
Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Kingery-Gallagher Funeral Home in 
Bellevue, Iowa. Local arrangements will be under the direction of Mulhearn 
Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.

Dr. Keil died July 17, 1998, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center of a sudden 
illness.

Dr. Keil was a member of the St. Paschal Catholic Church and an active member 
of the musician's group. Dr. Keil was a Summa Cum Laude graduate from the 
University of Dubuque, Dubuque, Iowa and a graduate of the University of Iowa 
College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa. He served his internship at Broadlawns 
Polk County Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa in 1978 and 1979. He was a 
commissioned officer with U.S. Public Health Service from 1979 until 1981 
stationed in Arcadia, LA., a physician shortage area. Dr. Keil has been in 
private practice since 1981 and has practiced in West Monroe since 1994. Dr. 
Keil held memberships in state and local (North Central Parishes) medical 
societies and the American Medical Association. He was past president of the 
North Central Parishes Society. He was Chief of Staff for Bienville General 
Hospital for several years, until its closure in 1993 and in 1995-96 he was 
chairman of the Department of Family Practice at Glenwood Hospital. He very 
much enjoyed landscaping his yard, computer graphics and his art.

Survivors include: Wife, Katherine R. Keil; Son, Kenneth W. Keil, III; 
Daughter, Sarah E. Keil all of West Monroe, LA.; Mother, Mrs. Lucille A. Keil 
of Bellevue, Iowa.

Memorial services will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 1998 at the St. 
Paschal Catholic Church in West Monroe, LA.
