KEITH Funeral services for Malcolm James Keith, Jr., 76, of Winnsboro, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 21, 2014 in the Mausoleum Chapel of Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe with Reverend Whit Stodghill officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Monroe. Mr. Keith died Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. Mr. Keith was preceded in death by his father, Malcolm James Keith Sr. Survived by his loving family, wife, Sherry Turner Keith; daughters: Teresa Danette Keith; Stuart Keith Scalia, her husband, James III; Amanda Troy Keith; mother, Lorraine Stuart Keith; grandchildren: Miranda Hemrick, her husband, Ryan; James P. Scalia IV; Hannah Chambers Pope, her husband Josh; Mary Ellis Scalia; four great grandchildren: Sosie, James V, Ellery and Jaxson; brother, Dr. Dan Keith, his wife Sandy; numerous nieces, nephews, close family friend Rhonda Rhodes and his beloved dog, Charlie. He was born in Dallas, TX, and raised in Paris, TX, where he loved the cowboy life. He graduated from Neville High School, attended Texas A&M and NLU where he obtained his Master's Degree. He was a respected member of the banking community in Monroe, then later retired from the State of Georgia Banking Commission. Mr. Keith was an avid Civil War history buff, enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding; but his passion was traveling with his wife Sherry, and his dog, Charlie to historic Civil War and American Indian sites. He was an active member of the NRA and Ducks Unlimited. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until service time, Friday, November 21, 2014, in the Mausoleum Chapel of Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their special thanks to the Glenwood ICU staff. Memorials may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church or the Humane Society of Monroe.
