Paul King, Bro. Randy Ray, Bro. Donald Reeves and Bro. Bubba Hoggatt officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville, LA from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Stan was born October 21, 1955 in Marion, LA and passed away on May 20, 2017 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 43 years, Linda of Haile, LA, daughter Katie Miers and husband Glenn of Sterlington, LA, daughter Joni Johnson and husband Brooks of Haile, LA, mother Yvonne Kennedy, father S.D. Kennedy of Marion, LA, sister Susan Reppond and husband Dale of Farmerville, LA, grandchildren Matthew and Annakae Miers, and John Larkin and Jude Turner, step grandchildren Caden and Brooklyn Johnson, sister-in-law Vicki Green and husband Mike of Monroe, LA, sister-in-law Glenda Reynolds and husband Pete of Linville, LA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Stan served as member and deacon at Liberty Baptist Church. As a pillar of his community, he surrendered to the ministry, loving the Lord and spreading God's word as his humble servant. Stan worked for over 38 years before retiring from Angus Chemical Company. He was known as an honest, dependable and strong man having served as Past President of the OCS Booster Club, Board Member for Rolling Hills Ministry, Board President of Linville Hunting Club. Board President for Liberty Cemetery Inc., Member of Kingdom Builders for The Lord Organization, and Blue Hat volunteer with LA Baptist Disaster Relief. Stan was also a longtime member of the Union Masonic Lodge #53. In addition to his love of God and family, he loved the outdoors as an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed many outdoor activities including camping, traveling and gardening. He will be laid to rest by pallbearers Mike Green, Dale Reppond, Mitch Reppond, Pete Reynolds, Jerry Mac Allen and Jimmy Anderson. In lieu of flowers, please extend offerings or donations to Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund, or Liberty Cemetery Inc. The Kennedy family would like to graciously thank all of the prayer warriors and caregivers that selflessly offered their love and effort to heal Stan during his fight.
