BARRETT THOMAS KENNEY

Barrett Thomas Kenney, 63 of Haile, LA (formerly of Jonesboro, LA) passed away 
in a tragic motorcycle accident along with his long time partner Melinda Weeks, 
51 in Spencer, LA on July 19th 2013.Barrett is predeceased by his father, 
Barrett Leroy Kenney. Barrett is survived by his mother Rhoda Fillmore Kenney 
of Jonesboro, LA. Barrett is also loving remembered by his son Barrett Kenney 
II and fiancé Brittnay Weeks of Haile, LA, his daughters Erica Otwell and 
husband Brad of Weston, LA, Tina Kenney of South Portland, ME, and Terrie 
Salvato and husband John of New Hampton, NH, grandchildren Kevin, Elizabeth 
Nicole, Camren, Landen, Cole, and Barrett Colin. Also survived by his sister 
Linda Emanus and husband John of Jonesboro, LA, his brothers Richard Kenney and 
wife Nancy of Weston, LA, David Kenney and wife Andrea of Portland, ME, Todd 
Kenney and wife Jennifer of Ruston, LA. Barrett is also survived by many nieces 
and nephews along with the children and grandchildren of Melinda Weeks.Barrett 
was born in Portland, Maine. He was a house mover for about 20 years before 
retiring and settling in Haile, LA. Barrett loved spending time with his 
grandchildren, hunting, fishing, and riding his Harley Davidson, taking many 
rides with his brothers, nephew, and son Barrett II. He was a volunteer for the 
DAV (Disabled America Veterans) providing transportation for our disabled 
veterans, was a member of ABATE and the Bleu Bayou HOG Chapter. The funeral 
service is being arranged by Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville, LA. Funeral 
services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 24th at Liberty Baptist 
Church in Linville with Bro. Bubba Hoggatt & Bro. Paul King officiating. Burial 
will be in the church cemetery.Pallbearers are Barrett T. Kenney II, Brad 
Otwell, Richard Kenney, Dave Kenney, Todd Kenney and John Emanus, Jr.Visitation 
will be 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Tuesday at Farrar Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, 
memorial donations may be made to the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) West 
Monroe Chapter, West Ouachita Senior Center, 1800 North 7th Street, West 
Monroe, LA 71292. Condolences for the family may be offered online at 
farrarfuneralhomeonline.
