Ferriday, LA Services for Cecile Keyes Mount, age 71 of Sicily Island, LA will be Saturday March 21, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Sicily Island, LA with Rev. Steve Keyes officiating, Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery, the services are under the direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday. Visitation will be held Friday March 20 from 8:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the church. Mrs. Mount a homemaker, was born on November 24, 1937 at Loamland Plantation in Tensas Parish, LA to her parents Roy C and Minnie B. Keyes. She passed away on Wednesday March 18, 2009 in Natchez, MS. Mrs. Mount has been a resident of Sicily Island for 50 years and a member of the First Baptist Church of Sicily Island. She was the church pianist, taught kindergarten and served in many other offices in the church. She was the Director of the Catahoula Council on Aging and was past president of the Woman's Club in Sicily Island. She was a member of the Daughters of the Confederate Rose. Mrs. Mount also taught private piano lessons. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William H. Mount. Mrs. Mount is survived by 3 sons, Douglas Mount and wife Cindy of Angola, LA, Darrell Mount and wife Lisa of Warner Brothers, GA, and Jay Roy Mount and wife Kristi, of Longview, TX; a brother Leslie Keyes, Sr. of LaPlace, LA; Sister: Ann Lee of Richmond, VA; 5 grandchildren, Ryan Mount, Rachel Mount Nelson, Brayden Mount, and Jayden Mount; great grandchild, William Joseph Nelson. Pallbearers will be Walter Myers, Jr, Leslie Keyes, Kelly White, Reginald Wycoff, Todd Maheffey and Andy Jones. Honorary Pallbearers: Paul White, Norman Jones, Floyd Mahaffey, Charles Miller, Dan White. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Vacation Bible School ministry in Sicily Island.
