MARY EMMA TINDELL KIFER

Funeral services for Mary Emma Tindell Kifer, age 77, will be held Monday, 
March 2, 2009 at 11:00AM at St. Joseph Baptist Church in St. Joseph, LA. 
Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services, with Pastor 
Larry Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Legion Cemetery in Newellton, 
LA.

Mrs. Kifer was born in Newellton, LA September 9, 1931 to Albert and Mary 
Elizabeth Tindell. She graduated from Newellton High in 1951 and married Cecil 
Lee Kifer, Sr. November 3rd of that same year.

Mrs. Kifer was a homemaker and resident of St. Joseph from 1951 until 2002 when 
she moved to Baton Rouge, LA.

Mrs. Kifer died February 26, 2009 at the Butterfly Wing of the in-patient 
hospice unit of the Hospice of Baton Rouge.

Mrs. Kifer is preceded in death by her husband Cecil Lee Kifer, Sr.; her 
parents Albert and Mary Stone Tindell; brother Morris "Hoss" Tindell; father 
and mother-in-law Louis Allen and Effie Kifer; brothers and sisters-in-law 
Nathan and Ruth Kifer, Ollie Kifer Brown and Fred Brown and Franklin "Frank" 
Kifer.

Mrs. Kifer is survived by on daughter Elizabeth Routon and her husband Robert 
Glen Routon of Baton Rouge, LA; two sons Cecil Lee Kifer, Jr. and his wife 
Connie of St. Joseph, LA and Brian Wade Kifer and wife Pam of St. Joseph, LA; 
five grandchildren Crawford Wade Kifer and wife Brandy of Vidalia, LA, Tucker 
Lee Kifer of Ruston, LA, Kelsey Lynn Kifer of Clinton, MS, Nikki Peeples Laboda 
and husband Steve of Ringgold, GA and Brett Peeples of Tallulah, LA; three 
great-grandchildren Nicholas, Lucas and Thomas Laboda of Ringgold, GA; siblings 
Margie Tindell Redditt and husband John of Hendersonville, TN, Mardell "Sissy" 
Tindell Osborne and husband Warren of Napels, FL and Albert "Buddy" Tindell, 
Jr. and wife Lady Tindell of St. Joseph, LA; numerous nieces and nephews and 
great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Crawford Wade Kifer, Tucker Lee Kifer, Danny Kifer, Nathan 
Odell "Sonny" Kifer, Jr., Allen Brown, David Redditt, John B. "Terry" Redditt 
and Rickey Lowery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Whitfield Jones and Will Johnson.
