Saturday March 19, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Monroe, LA with Rev. Lynn Malone officiating. Interment will be in Natchez National Cemetery on March 18, 2016. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Laird's Funeral Home, Natchez, MS. Mrs. Kildron passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer on March 3, 2016 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born Jan 16, 1931 in Cordova, AL, to David C. and Elma Akins. Raised in Cordova, AL, she graduated from Cordova High School and attended Howard College in Birmingham. After college Anne went on to work in her first job as a secretary for the FBI. She married husband Col. Frederick Joseph Kildron, a hometown sweetheart and United States Air Force officer in 1953. Traveling to various military assignments over the years, and surviving the Great Alaskan Earthquake of 1964, Fred retired after 22 years of military service and they decided to settle in Monroe in 1970, and raise their five children. In Monroe, Anne was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church. Anne loved to volunteer and was a key member of the Selman field reunion in 1986 that eventually lead to the formation of a historical Museum. She was also a very active member of the Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras parade organization and was one of the founding members of the Twin Cities Pilot Club. Anne was a former President of the Opti- Mrs. Club, a patron of The Monroe Little Theatre where many of her children performed and a member of the Monroe Garden Club. Over the years, Anne most enjoyed attending her sons sporting events and her daughter's pageant competitions. Later in life Anne enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and living with her two surviving daughters in California. She loved life and brought great joy to all her knew her. Anne was preceded in death by her husband Fred and daughter Dana Kaye. She is survived by 4 of her children; daughter, Sandra Staggs, son Keith Kildron and wife Tomoyo, son Lance Kildron and wife Karen and daughter, Carol Anne Kildron; 7 grandchildren, Alden Allen, Kenn Kildron, Ray Kildron, Anne-Marie Kildron, Garrett Kildron, Jack Kildron and Dana-Grace Kildron; and numerous other loving family and friends. Pallbearers will be Kevin Goldman, James Goldman, Heath Allen, Philip Sullivan, Pablo Szub and Larry Akins. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Monroe, LA, 3900 Loop Road, Monroe LA 71201. Online condolences may be sent to lairdfh.com.
