KING Funeral services for Harold King, 89, of Delhi will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 4, 2015 in the chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Delhi with Rev. Steve Hillman officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Sunday at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi. Burial will be in the Delhi Masonic Cemetery. Harold was born on October 19, 1925 at Holly Ridge, LA and passed away Friday, May 1, 2015 in Delhi. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged with the rank Sergeant 1st Class. After his service, Harold worked for Sun Oil Co. as a lease operator for 42 years. Mr. King worked five years as a bus driver for The Manger Center for the mentally challenged of Richland and Madison Parishes. Two of Mr. King's favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed raising and training hunting dogs. Harold also enjoyed talking and visiting with his numerous friends and he was a member of Westside Baptist Church in Delhi. Preceding him in death are his parents, Fred A. King and Mattie Mae King Weaver; his wife Ernestine Stephens King; a brother Bobby King and two sisters, Maurine Wilson and Janice King. He is survived by his children Scott King, Keith King and Mark King & wife Cheryl; a brother Douglas King and a sister Jeanette Leckie. Also surviving him are two grandchildren, Melissa King and Matthew King; a great granddaughter Ashley Corkern and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Pallbearers will be Michael Ray King, Paul Wells, Jason Corkern, Mark King, Scott King and Matthew King.
