Bob Holloway officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe. Mr. King was born October 23, 1942 in Patterson, GA and passed from this life on June 2, 2016 at the West Monroe Guest House. He was a retired expert painter who enjoyed fishing and a good hard honest day's work. Mr. King is preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Ethel King; four brothers, Bobby King, Infant King, R.D. King, and Steve King; two sisters, Peggy Ogelsby and Earnestine Chauncey; half-brother, Charlie King; and half-sister, Jeanette King. Survivors include his wife of 50+ years, Joyce T. King; son, Mark King and wife Terie; daughter, Margie Robinson and husband Chris; six grandchildren, Dannion King, Brodie King, Rebekah King, Kasidy King, Cade Robinson, and Jake Robinson all of West Monroe, LA; three sisters, Carolyn Albritton of Waycross, GA, Ann Chancellor of Patterson, GA, Mae Raulerson and husband Gerald of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Larry King and wife Linda of Prattville, AL, and Phillip King of Patterson, GA; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. Pallbearers will be Cade Robinson, Jake Robinson, Dannion King, DJ Simon, Bobby Wilson, and Larry Cash. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Benjamin Weinberger and Dr. Kevin Gallagher and their staff; as well as the staff of the West Monroe Guest House and Hospice Compassus. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society . Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Griffin Funeral Home in West Monroe.
