HELEN C. KNEBEL

Helen C. Knebel, 81, of Victoria, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016. She 
was born on July 22, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Arthur B. Johnson 
and Edna Tuberson Johnson. 

Helen was a graduate of Neville High School in Monroe, LA and attended NLSC in 
Monroe. She was active for 23 years in the Citizens Medical Center Auxiliary 
and was also a member of the Morning Study Club, Quilt Guild, Club 20, and the 
Victoria Symphony League. 

Survivors include her daughters, Greta Knebel of McFaddin, TX and Emily Knebel 
of Victoria, TX; step children, Rob Johnson of New Braunfels, TX and Karen 
Pounds of Blanco, CO; brother, Edward G. Johnson, (Tommy Sue) of Monroe, LA; 
six grandchildren; nephews, Chuck Johnson, Art Johnson, III, Steve Johnson, 
Edward Johnson, Jr; nieces, Donna Lanier and Laura Bunker. She was preceded in 
death by husband, Eric Knebel; brothers, Arthur B. Johnson, Jr. (Mary), Carl 
D. Johnson (Barbara) and nephew, Michael Johnson. 

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 6 to 8 pm at 
Colonial Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 
2016, 10:00 am at Grace Lutheran Church, Pastor Chris Johnson officiating. A 
Private Graveside will follow at a later date.

Helpers, Hospice of South Texas Nurses and Caregivers, and Dr. William B. 
Shay. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of South Texas,
