To the people of Franklin Parish, Louisiana , and the Nation I , L.D. Knox 
offer a fond Farewell:

Funeral services for Luther Divine Knox, Sr. age 80 of Winnsboro will be held 
3:00 PM Tuesday June 2, 2009 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home 
with Bro. Kenneth Collinsworth officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady 
Grove Cemetery at Jigger. Visitation will be on Monday evening from 5:00 to 
8:00 PM at the funeral home in Columbia.

Luther Divine Knox was born on March 9, 1929 to the union of his parents Grady 
Perry Knox and Leatice Rogers Knox. The vastness of his life was to be long and 
somewhat colorful. Known to everyone simply as L.D. he would go on to have his 
name changed to "none of the above" and would go on to run for more public 
offices than any other American excluding President Abraham Lincoln. He even 
ran for the office of President. L.D. felt that people as a whole were simply 
fed up with the two party system of government and he gave the people every 
opportunity to voice their sentiment. He did not serve in active duty in World 
War II but was an instructor to those who did instructing in the area of combat 
and enemy resistance. He was involved deeply in agriculture and owned some 
fourteen hundred acres at Bayou Macon which was hand cleared and brought to the 
highest level of cultivation. He approached the USDA in 1989 to end their 
primitive way of farming and to embrace the John Houston Smith row knocker and 
method of farming. L.D. was a champion and crusader of the common man, the 
under privileged, disabled, children, and elderly.

As his legacy he leaves behind thirteen children: Sandra, Janice, Sherry, 
Peggy, Reggie, Darryl, Doyle, L. D. Jr, Gary, Jeffrey, Gregory, Angel, and 
Corey. Three siblings: Asy Knox, Gussie Collins, and Porsha Perot and his 
beloved friend of thirty five years Mrs. Mary Smith

Pallbearers include: Judge Rudy McIntyre, Lelon Kenney, Mayor Jack Hammons, 
Roger Beall, Gary Rider, and Allen George.

Honorary pallbearers include Raymond Barrington and Governor Edwin Edwards.
