RILEY R. LAFFOON Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA A celebration of the life of Riley R. Laffoon, 74, of West Monroe will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at The Pentecostals of the Twin Cities with Pastor Mark Foster and Pastor Emeritus Fred Foster officiating. Entombment will follow at the Harrisonburg Cemetery in Harrisonburg, LA. Mr. Laffoon was born August 21st, 1934, in Jonesville, LA, he passed away on January 4, 2009. A longtime member and former choir director of the Pentecostals of Twin Cities, Mr. Laffoon was a retired freight agent for A & LM Railway. He was an avid hunter and president of the American Coonhound Association for many years. A former board member of the United Kennel Club, he worked for the UKC for 12 years and was a member of the Skeeter Bayou Hunting Club and he was also a member of the Woodmen of the World. Survivors include his devoted and loving wife of 51 years, Getice M. Laffoon, 2 sisters, Letha Rains and Robbie Bazar; a special sister-in-law, Evelyn Stringer; several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are Troy Hendry, Joe Prysock, Tommy Waldrop, Jerry Smith, John Meyers, Charles Stringer, Connie Reed, and Ryan Coleman. Honorary pallbearers include Stephen Cruse, James Guice, Todd Ogletrope, Jeremy Waldrop, David Carlisle, Rev. Charles Stevenson, Glynn McGuffee and James Hutchins. Family would like to extend a special thanks to his special caregivers Millie Funderburk and Lila Wilhite and also Southern Care Hospice. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Pentecostals of Twin Cities, West Monroe.
