A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church Chapel on Sunday, February 26 at 1:00 with Rev Rolly Walker officiating. Gerry (Nana) was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, teacher, and friend to many. She was born in Columbia, Mississippi, on June 11, 1926. She graduated from Columbia High School in 1944. She then graduated from Mississippi College for Women in 1947 and received her Master's degree in math at the University of Southern Mississippi where she met her husband, Maxie Lambright. They were married in 1949 and spent several years coaching and teaching in various high schools and colleges in Mississippi before landing in Ruston at Louisiana Tech University in 1967. Gerry taught math and helped many students and football players through their math courses while her husband was the head coach there. She retired from Tech in 1992. She was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Gerry had many long-time friends with whom she enjoyed activities such as bible study, bridge, investment club, traveling, birthday club, computer classes, and water aerobics. But her favorite thing was following her grandchildren through football, basketball, and baseball games, piano recitals, and pageants. She was preceded in death by her parents Vernie and Jabez Yarborough, her husband Maxie, and her brother Richard Yarborough. She is survived by her daughter Linda Causey and her husband John, daughter Lisa Barnes and her husband Eddie, grandchildren Max Causey and wife Magan, Molly Causey Gilliam and husband Corey, Kate Barnes DiGiovonni and husband Colby, and her great grandchildren Elise Clare Causey, Barnes Causey, Austin Leigh Gilliam, John Mark Gilliam, and Cambree DiGiovanni.
