Under the direction of Young's Funeral Home-Ferriday, LA Tu LA Tut was born on November 5, 1922, in Oak Grove, La. to the union of Judge John Robert Robert McIntosh and Edna Brown McIntosh. She passed away at her home in St. Joseph Joseph, La. on Saturday, December 31, 2016. Tut attended Judson College in Judson, Ala. and graduated from Louisiana Tech with with a degree in Education. She taught school in Oak Grove, Waterproof, and St. Jose Joseph. It was in Tensas Parish where she met and fell in love with Robert Jame James Lancaster. After marrying, she became a devoted wife and mother. Tut loved her church and her faith was an example to all who knew her. She lo loved summers at her camp on Lake Bruin, sports, traveling and entertaining her fa family and many friends. Survivors include her three children: Robert James Lancaster Jr. and wife Judy, Abita Springs, La.; John McIntosh Lancaster and wife Martha, Oak Grove, La.; and Jennifer Lancaster Gilfoil and husband Wyly, Lake Providence, La.; grandchildren - Robert James Lancaster III (Erica), Atlanta, Ga.; Molly Lancaster, Baton Rouge, La.; Lillie Cooper (Steven), Durham, N.C.; Tobie Lancaster Southall (Justin), Fairhope, Ala.; Major John McIntosh Lancaster (Johanna) Royal Oak, Mich.; Luke Madden Lancaster (Suzanne), Mandeville, La.; James Henry Gilfoil V (Mary Kathryn), Ocean Springs, Miss.; William Wyly Gilfoil Gilfoil Jr. (Corey), Beaumont, Texas; Edna Beth Nettles (Wynn), New Orleans, La.; Robert Cain Gilfoil (Adrian) Baton Rouge, La.; 21 great-grandchildren - Tucker, Tate and Reed Lancaster; George and James Balfour; Charlie Tickle; Fisher, Tucker, Tate and Reed Lancaster; George and James Balfour; Charlie Tickle; Fisher, Killien and Sadie Southall; Miles and Tut Lancaster; Stella and Eli Lancaster; Marley and Patterson Gilfoil; Wyles, Bruin, Riggs and Sam Gilfoil; an and Gus and Mack Nettles. She is also survived by special cousin Doug McIntosh (Carolyn) and sister-in-law Betty Lancaster Robertson, as well as many special nieces and nephews. Tut and Robert James also helped raise three nieces Claudette Fergus, law Betty Lancaster Robertson, as well as many special nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert James Lancaster; sister, sister, Valerie Hester; brothers, John Brown McIntosh, David McIntosh and Mack McIntosh McIntosh. A special thanks to Patricia Watson and Mary Nicholas, who took such good care of her of her; also to her niece and nephew, Val and Chip Sloan for their love and care e care each day.
