LAROSE It is with deepest sorrow that the LaRose family announces the passing of Walter Louis LaRose, Jr. on June 2, 2024 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Walter, age 56, was born on September 25, 1967 in West Monroe, grew up in Monroe, Louisiana, and in recent years he and his family have resided in Alexandria, LA. He was baptized, confirmed, and educated at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church and School as well as St. Frederick High School. He earned a collegiate degree from the University of Louisiana Monroe. As a young boy Walter enjoyed water skiing on the Ouachita River and the lakes of Arkansas. He also spent many summers camping in the Smoky Mountains with his family. As years went by, what an avid Saints fan he became; Go SAINTS! In May of 1997, Walter married the love of his life Liz (Mary Elizabeth Cage), now 27 years ago. From their union, God blessed them with the gift of 2 beautiful children, son John Louis and daughter Claire Elizabeth. Life changed for the two of them; more than ever before, family became #1 to them. Having been born and raised in a family who almost always had a pet dog, Walter and Liz decided to round out their family by having a dog for all to enjoy. Through the years, they had a special affection for pugs, first Riley then later came, Otis. Walter’s school buddies had been ironclad in their loyalty to each other throughout the years, and remain as such today. They had a friendship that no matter how much time passed, or how distant they lived apart from one another, they kept in touch and pressed to have reunions whenever possible. They were actively hoping and aiming for another such gathering this summer. Walter was predeceased by his grandparents Robert & Irma George and Walter D. & Margaret LaRose. Those left to cherish Walter’s memory are his loving wife Liz; daughter, Claire; son, Senior Airman John, USAF; parents, Walter and Brenda LaRose; sister, Wendy Crow (husband, William); brother, Braden LaRose (wife Natalie); four nieces and one nephew; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. We thank our many dear friends and family for your expressions of sympathy and the blessing of prayers which are now lining the road to Heaven for Walter. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Make-A-Wish Foundation, or any charity of your choice. Mass intentions have been scheduled for the repose of Walter’s soul at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church. Honoring Walter’s expressed desire to have a Celebration of Life in New Orleans, such an event will be planned to take place in the near future.
