MICHAEL DALE LEATHERWOOD

Funeral services for Michael Dale Leatherwood, 54, of Calhoun, LA, will be held 
at 11:00 AM, Thursday, February 9, 2017, at North Monroe Baptist Church, with 
Rev. Warren Eckhardt and Rev. Bill Dye officiating. He will be laid to rest at 
Mt. Mariah Methodist Church Cemetery, in Arcadia, LA, under the direction of 
Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mike was born in Tuscon, AZ, on February 16, 1962, and passed away on February 
6, 2017. He was a member at North Monroe Baptist Church. He was an Army 
Veteran. He loved LSU football, playing golf with his buddy, John, and loved 
his nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Leatherwood, of Oklahoma.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Dawn Powell Leatherwood; mother and 
stepfather, George and Doris Sheldon of Texarkana, TX; brothers and sisters in 
law, Ardis and Bobbie Sue Powell of Athens, LA, Henry and Carla Powell of 
Pineville, LA, Larry and Terrie Powell of Baton Rouge, LA, Ricky and Jerri 
Powell of Jackson, MS and Tony and Celeste Powell of Athens, LA; furr babies, 
Doc and Wyatt, Miles and Mingo, Riley Maxine and Gibbs; and numerous nieces and 
nephews.

Pallbearers will be Brian, Marc and Greg Powell, John Wooldridge, Kenneth 
Clark, and Parker Lee. Alternate pallbearer is Jimmie Willoughby.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at North 
Monroe Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter or NINNAS Road to 
Rescue in Haughton, LA.
