Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Calhoun, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA. Mrs. Lee passed away on August 17, 2008 after sudden illness. Barbara was a State Farm agent in Bessemer, AL for the past 11 years. She was very giving of her time and energy. She devoted countless hours to the Salvation Army where she served on the Board. She was involved in the Bessemer Rotary Club, where she was Past President, a Paul Harris Fellow and Rotarian of the year in 2006. She was also in the West Jefferson Area Chamber of Commerce as well as a past member of the BPW. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, James W. "Hoot" Gibson. Barbara is survived by her husband, Steve Lee; daughter, Whitnee Spradlin and husband Eric; son, Logan Wilson; step-daughter, Alexa Lee; mother, Maudie Gibson; brother, Ray Gibson and wife Diana; sister, Lisa Robertson and husband Alan; mother-in-law, Syvillia "Sam" Lee; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving extended family. Pallbearers will be Rusty Cottingham, Chris Cottingham, Matt Woods, Harvey Gibson, Alis Gibson, Jimmy Gibson, Shane Hoffler, and Dale Miller. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at White's Ferry Road Church of Christ. Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, 2100 11th Ave. N., Birmingham, AL 35234.
