Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel, West Monroe, LA Family and friends will gather together to celebrate the life of Coy Eugene Lee, Sr. of West Monroe, LA in the Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, July 14, at 10:00 A.M. Mr. Lee's wish was to live to be 90 years old. He was born May 18, 1919 and surpassed that by going to sleep in Jesus with his family and friends by his side in his home, July 11, 2009. Mr. Lee is survived by his loving and faithful wife, Myrtice Emily Lee, his five daughters: Mary Jane Robison-Kyser, Paula Powers, Michalene Lee-Hieb, Deborah Bailey, and Cara Lee; one son: Coy Eugene Lee, Jr.; his sister, Daisy Douthit; and sister-in-law Hazel Lee; 17 grand children and 23 great grandchildren. Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his brothers, Louis Lee, Kenneth Lee, and William Lee; and his parents, William and Mary Lee. Mr. Lee served his country during World War II as Technical Sergeant with the Company C271 Infantry. He fought in Central Europe, Northern France and Rhineland, and was honorably discharged September 29, 1945. In 1946, Mr. Lee began his internship in the jewelry business at Lee's Jewelry in West Monroe with his brother, Louis Lee, training him to do watch repair. Mr. Lee worked at Simmon's Jewelry for many years before his retirement in 1984. After his retirement, Mr. Lee and his wife moved to Arkansas for a few years. While there, Mr. Lee learned to weave and design oak baskets. He loved to be outdoors and his favorite hobby was fishing. Mr. Lee faithfully attended Westlakes Seventh-day Adventist Church in West Monroe, LA. Pallbearers will be grandsons Gene Johnson, Trey Johnson, Gus Ortiz, Jack Robison, Blake Robison, and Jon Bostick. Honorary Pallbearers are Mark Lee and Will Phillips. Visitation will be at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 PM, Monday, July 13, 2009. Graveside services will be at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Frost Town. A reception will be held following the graveside services for family and friends honoring Mr. Lee's life at the Westlakes Seventh-day Adventist Church.
