LANCE CORPORAL WILLIAM CASPER "WILL" LENSING

Funeral services for Lance Corporal William Casper "Will" Lensing, 27, of 
Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Jesus the Good 
Shepherd Catholic Church with Rev. Job Edathinatt, Rev. Joseph Puthuppally, 
Rev. Mark Watson, and Rev. Zacharias Prakuzhy officiating. Interment will be 
at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D.C., Services are under the 
direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Will passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011. He was a member of St. Lawrence 
Catholic Church and graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 2001. His 
hobbies included hunting and fishing, and hanging out with family and friends 
on Lake Providence.

Will joined the United States Marine Corp in 2002. He received the Navy and 
Marine Corps Achievement Medal for professional achievement in the superior 
performance of his duties while serving as squad automatic weapon gunner, 2D 
Platoon, Company B, 1st Battalion, 23D Marines, 3D Light Armored 
Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom 
II from October 1, 2004, to February 1, 2005. Lance Corporal Lensing 
distinguished himself with professional competency and tactical skills well 
beyond his rank and years of experience. During security and combat operations 
throughout Iraq's Al Anbar Province, Lance Corporal Lensing mastered breaching 
techniques and entry tactics during multiple platoon and company-sized raids 
and cordon and search missions. Undaunted by enemy fires or the threat of 
enemy contact, Lance Corporal Lensing routinely volunteered to served as the 
point man for his squad during dismounted patrols and urban raids. His 
tactical prowess, mature presence of mind, and unwavering commitment in every 
mission were cornerstones of his war fighting talents that inspired all. Lance 
Corporal Lensing's professionalism, performance in combat, and steadfast 
devotion to duty reflected credit upon him and were in keeping with the 
highest traditions of the Marine Corps and the United States Naval Service.

The President of the United States of America awarded the Purple Heart to 
Lance Corporal William C. Lensing, United States Marine Corps for wounds 
received in action on November 11, 2004, in Iraq. Even though he was wounded 
in the Battle of Fallujah in 2004, he never regretted joining or being a 
Marine and loved serving his country.

Will was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Casper M. Lensing; 
paternal grandmother, Patsy S. Lensing; and maternal grandfather, Leon Fox.

Survivors include his parents, Bill and Cindy Lensing of Lake Providence, LA; 
two sisters, Tammy Lensing Marsh and husband Kevin of Franklin, TN, and Laura 
Anna Lensing of Little Rock, AR; maternal grandmother, Willie Mae Fox of 
Monroe, LA; niece, Emma Marsh; nephew, Kevin Marsh, Jr.; and numerous aunts, 
uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be Friday, May 13, 2011, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at 
Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Pallbearers will be Cole Barthel, Cash Frasier, Rory Perry, Michael Stevenson, 
Jarold Lee Doherty, and Johnny Phillips.

Honorary pallbearers will be all male first cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the Lance Corporal William 
Casper "Will" Lensing
