L. Leonard will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 6, 2013, in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home. Interment will be in Baskin Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2013, at the funeral home. Mr. Leonard was born September 23, 1936 in Winnsboro, LA to his parents Clarence Lee Leonard and Nettie Johnson Leonard and passed from this life on January 4, 2013 at Saint Francis Medical Center Monroe, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Olene Cureington and Enola Fox. Mr. Leonard was employed by the Louisiana Department of Transportation as an Engineer Aide III for 30 years; after his retirement from the Department of Transportation he worked for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Franklin Parish Police Jury. He loved gospel music and devoted his life to singing bass in trios, quartets ans solos thorough out Northeast Louisiana. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife Pat Leonard of Winnsboro, LA; children Diane Sylvester and husband Jeff of Monroe, LA; Patty Remore and husband Willie of Baskin, LA; Brian Leonard of Mangham; Jessica Leonard Johnston of Winnsboro, LA; Susan and Bobby Kitchell of Winnsboro, LA; Larry Leonard of St. Francisville, LA; Lee Ann Leonard of Madison, MS; grandchildren Lauren and Shelby Sylvester; Riley and Kennedi Remore; Nathan, Hunter, River and Noah Leonard; Grace, Cole and Ellie Johnston; Larry Logan Hitt; Paul and Dr. Mike Kitchell; Audrey and Mason Leonard; great grandchildren Henry and Ben Kitchell and Elijah King. Pallbearers will be Mike Free, Bobby Herring, Levy Lord, Perry Parker, Danny Remore and Don Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Baldwin, Johnny Guice and Dan Robinson.
