LEVAC Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA Memorial service for Mr. Joseph E. Levac, 70, of Calhoun, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at St. Paschal's Catholic Church with Father Adrian Fischer officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in the National Cemetery in Dallas, TX. Mr. Levac is a 21 year veteran of the United States Navy. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer and operated in the EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) unit and was a Navy Diver as well. He also received the Bronze Star for actions in Vietnam. He later worked for the U.S. Postal Office as a Letter Carrier for 12 years in Arlington, TX. Survivors include his wife, Roberta Levac; son, Robert Levac and wife Kris of Burnsville, MN; daughter, Michelle Herring and husband Paul of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Kyle and Brett Levac and Christopher, Hunter, and Hagen Herring; brothers, Roger and Mike; and sisters, Rollie, Georgette, Agathe, and Marie. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Wednesday at St. Paschal's Catholic Church, West Monroe, LA. Memorials may be made to USO (United Service Organizations).
