JOYCE BIRD LEWIS

Joyce Bird Lewis, 83, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2014. She 
passed away after a long illness. She was a native of Sicily Island, LA. and a 
member of First Baptist of Waverly. She enjoyed church work and outdoor 
activities.

Preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Dorothy Bird. Her brothers 
Charles Bird and Shelton Bird. Her sisters Hilda Toups and Anita Piraja. 
Survived by her brother Kenneth Bird and JoLynn; sisters:Eva Hunley, Evelyn 
Bright and Ira, Avis Compton and Allen, Janette Bird, and Frances Youngblood 
and Louis. 

Survived by a son Richard Lewis and June of Gloster, MS. Survived by a 
daughter Nancy Lewis Cleveland of Hattiesburg, MS.

A celebration of her life will be at 1:00 at First Baptist Church of Waverly 
Saturday, March 15, 2014 led by Bro. Don Thornton.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that any memorial be made out to First 
Baptist Church of Waverly or the charity of your choice .

The family wishes to thank Olive Branch Senior Care Center, Dr. Leonard 
Neumann, and Crossgate Hospice in Delhi, LA for their compassionate care
