Funeral services for Mr. Purvis E. "Buddy" Lewis, 84, of Monroe, LA will be 
held at 2:00 PM Monday, June 29, 2009 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, 
Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. Gerald Lewis officiating. Interment will 
follow at Harris Chapel Cemetery at Olla, LA.

Mr. Lewis passed away Friday, June 26, 2009. He was a WWII Veteran and POW.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lottie Lewis.

Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn Kirkham Lewis; two daughters, Linda 
Pottenger and husband Craig and Lisa Turnage and husband Lee; one son, Hank 
Davis; brother, Rev. Gerald Lewis and wife Shirley; grandchildren, Matt 
Merritt, Michelle Gallien, Cody Turnage, Noah Turnage, Misty Soignier, and 
Beaux Davis; great grandchildren, Torey Soignier, Gabriel Gallien, and Chloe 
Gallien.

Pallbearers will be Hank Davis, Thomas Price, Lee Turnage, Jodie Jordan, Mark 
Soignier, and Matt Merritt. Honorary pallbearers will be Beaux Davis and Craig 
Pottenger.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday, June 28, 2009 at 
Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
