Matthew Lord was a lover of life, laughter, experience and adventure. Not a single activity or endeavor he approached without an aggressive passion. Matt spoke with a genuine confidence and often led discussions on the deeper "why" of life. Whether in a group of two or a crowd of hundreds, he was one to make his presence known and ensure a memorable time was had by all. He also had a unique way of making people feel special and individually important. His interests were many: hunting, fishing, mixed martial arts, golf, baseball, football, anything LSU, coaching his children's teams, and manliness in general. Matt found the most happiness in his all-time favorite adventure of being a parent to his three children. Matthew accepted Jesus as his Savior at the age of 4. He followed the Lord's call and served in full-time ministry for 12 years. He was influential in leading many youth to Christ in Louisiana, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi. Matt was a proud family man. Proud of his upbringing, his heritage and his culture. He and his wife, Laura, shared a passion for health, fitness and people. Together they opened Fit Revival, a personal training studio. Matt truly enjoyed helping people push to their limits in order to be their best. Matt was preceded in death by his grandfather, G.W. McVay. Matt is survived by his wife, Laura Lord; children, Noah Clayton Lord, Elijah Lawson Lord and Evie Mae Lord; parents, Clay and Lisa Lord; sister, Sarah Lord Hyatt; grandparents, Janice McVay, Jake and Betty Lord and a host of friends.
