Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 17, at 10:00 A.M. at Cook Baptist Church in Ruston under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Mike Holloway and Rev. Hugh Wallis. Burial will follow at the St. Rest Baptist Church Cemetery in Dubach. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the sanctuary at Cook Baptist Church. Mrs. Love was a lifelong resident of Lincoln Parish. She spent many years assisting her husband in the family's residential construction business, serving as an officer of the corporation and interior decorator. She also worked as an assistant in the Ruston mayor's office for several years before retirement. As an active member of Cook Baptist Church, Mrs. Love sang in the Sanctuary Choir for many years, and assisted her husband, Don, with teaching a Sunday School class for International students and residents in the Ruston area. She also served on the church's hostess committee. Mrs. Love was a member of the Ruston Quota Club, an international service organization for professional women, and served a term as president of the local chapter. Floral arranging and photography were her hobbies, and Mrs. Love enjoyed baking for her friends. She loved to travel and was privileged to visit many different countries around the world during her life. She also loved music and served as church pianist at St. Rest Baptist Church earlier in her life. Even after disease claimed her memory, playing the piano was a favorite pastime and comfort to her. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family, cooking and sharing meals, and laughing together. Mrs. Love is preceded in death by her parents, John Lee Hood and Mary Katherine Hood, and one sister, Irene Hood Fallin. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Don Wayland Love; son Dennis W. Love and wife Brandi of Arlington, TX; daughter Kaye Love Ambrose and husband Kenneth of Ruston; Son Jerry D. Love and wife Jena' of Pineville; special family member Kathy Sanders Love; brother M.L. "Tinker" Hood and wife Marie of Dubach; sister Susie Hood Woodard of Ruston; eleven grandchildren: Jason Ambrose and wife Allison, Stephanie Ambrose and husband Brandon, John Ambrose, Amanda Love Dowling and husband Jonathan, Tiffany Love and Joshua Love and their mother Kathy Sanders Love; Sandra Love; Kara Love; M'Kayla Love; David Love; Jacob Love; and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are her grandsons: Jason Ambrose, Brandon Milton, John Ambrose, Jonathan Dowling, and David Love; and nephews Russell Woodard and Ivin Hood.
