Lindle Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Virginia was born December 12, 1927 in Indianapolis, IN. She passed away on February 4, 2013 in Monroe, LA where she moved after marrying "Jake" Lowrey in 1952. She retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company after serving 36 years. She was a dedicated member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of Swartz First Baptist Church. She loved to cook, sew, do crafts and to work in the yard. She is preceded in death by her parents, Laurence P. Goedert and Cecile Crow Weddle; husband, "Jake" Lowrey; brothers-in-law, "Pete" Lowrey and James Lowrey; sister-in-law, Voncille Lowrey Adams; and nephew, Jimmy Dexter Adams. Survivors include: step-sister, Lavena Hauer; sisters-in-law, Cleta Lowrey, Maurine Lowrey, Patsy McGinty and her husband, David; cousins, Dick and Ellen Crow; step-niece, Michelle Nichter and husband, David; nieces, Debbie Lee and husband, Terry, Denise May, Donna Gale Fuller and husband, Basil, Pam Waldrop, Teena Adams; step-nephew, Jason Day and nephew, Kevin Lowrey and wife, Gayle; and several great nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Connie Culpepper, Betty Kennedy, and staff of StoneyBrook Memory Care, LA Hospice, Kent Stokes and Linda Rightsell for their care and support. Pallbearers will be Jacob Lowrey, Kent Stokes, Basil Fuller, Bubba Panquin, Russell Waldrop, Connie Culpepper, and Betty Kennedy. Honorary pallbearers will be Armand Stokes, Terry Lee, David McGinty, and Donnie Holloway. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 8, 2013 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
