MARGUERITE LUCKY


Mrs. Marguerite Lucky, age 93 of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 
Alpine Guest Care in Ruston following a period of declining health. Mrs. 
Lucky was a retired teacher with the Jackson Parish School System, a member 
of the Jonesboro United Methodist Church, a loving mother, grandmother, 
great-grandmother and a friend to many.

Visitation was held 9:00 am until 11:00 am Friday, May 19, 2017 at the 
Jonesboro United Methodist Church. Funeral services were held 11:00 am at 
the church with Reverend Bill Strawbridge officiating. Interment was in 
Edmonds Gayla Traina Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds 
Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lucky is survived by a daughter, Susan Lucky Horn & husband Wayne of 
Brevard, NC; son, Robert Samuel Lucky of Castor, LA; granddaughter, Amanda 
Horn Coyne & husband Travis; great-grandchildren Samuel Monroe Coyne and 
Marguerite Elizabeth Coyne all of Brevard, NC; brother-in-law, Ernest Lucky 
of Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Rivers 
Lucky; parents, William Jasper McKinney and Clyde A. (Blanche) McKinney; 
brother, James Sterling McKinney.

Serving the family as Pallbearers were Jimmy Robinson, Donny Flowers, Johnny 
Templeton and Gary Black. Honorary Pallbearers were Jimmy Rogers, Kenneth 
Brown, Hank Lowery, Bobby Stone and Woody McDonald.

To Honor Mrs. Lucky, please read a book to a child today.

The family has requested that if you choose to make a memorial make it to 
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to your favorite charity.
