LUM Graveside services for Fulton S. Lum, 88, of Huttig, AR, will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Harper Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Huttig, AR with Rev. John Lofton officiating. Services are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mr. Lum, born October 9, 1924 to Charlie and Mollie Lum, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe, LA. He was a member of Harper Springs Baptist Church, a log hauler, poultry grower, and retired from Huttig Sawmill. Mr. Lum was also a retired volunteer Fire Fighter for the City of Huttig. He worked hard to provide for his family which he loved dearly. A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, he will be missed by his family and friends. He was the true meaning of a father: the parent of a household accepting the responsibility of providing for his family and instilling honesty and hard work into his children. Mr. Lum was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons-in-law, Billy Oliver and Stephen Posey; grandson, Chris Oliver; and brother, J. P. Lum. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth Tarter Lum; three sons, Fulton Lum, Jr. (Geraldene) of Huttig, AR, Jimmy Lum (Jeannette) of El Dorado, AR, and Dewayne Lum of Little Rock, AR; four daughters, Judy Oliver of Sterlington, LA, Karen Graves (Karl) of Winnfield, LA, Sandra Johnstone (Richard) of Huttig, AR, and Janice Dupree (Carter) of Farmerville, LA; brother-in-law, Paul Tarter (Dot); 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Keith Oliver, Doug Graves, Jonathan Graves, Justin McKinnie, Robert Dupree, Cass Oliver, and Michael Graves. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
