Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Shreveport under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe. Mrs. Williams, 88 of Monroe, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2006 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Williams was born January 23, 1917, in Shreveport. She graduated from Byrd High School, Shreveport in 1934 and attended North Business College, Shreveport. In 1946 she moved to Monroe with her husband, Sidney Lafayette Williams and became a member of Memorial United Methodist Church where she remained an active member until her death. She went to work as a medical secretary in 1952 for the Orthopaedic Clinic and retired from there in 1984. She served as a past president of the Sherrouse School PTA and was a member of the Ouachita Parish Medical Assistants Society before her retirement. After her retirement she served as a volunteer for many organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Morgan and Mary Louise Beale Lancaster; her son, Sidney Lafayette Williams, Jr., and her brother, Sidney Morgan Lancaster, Jr. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was devoted to her faith and her friends. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sally Williams DesOrmeaux and her husband, Kirby of Alexandria; grandchildren, Robin DesOrmeaux Mouliere and her husband, Keith of Alexandria and Sidney Carter Williams and his wife, Holly of Lufkin, Texas; great-granddaughters, Brooke Suzanne Mouliere of Alexandria and Sydnie Grace Williams of Lufkin, Texas; step-grandchildren, Mary Margaret Rowe Stevens and Ernest E. Rowe, Jr., of Texas; her sister, Nell Lancaster Bizet and her husband, Joe of Shreveport. Pallbearers will be Walter Perron, Paul Mallett, Frank Serio, Paul Farr, Kermit Bearden and Lester Davis. The family expresses special thanks to a hose of friends and special friends for all their kindness and prayers. Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Mulhearn Funeral Home, 2308 Sterlington Road, Monroe.
