GREGORY MCCLENTIS JR. MADDEN

Funeral services for Gregory McClentis "Clent" Madden, Jr., 36, of Monroe, will 
be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 21, 2014, in the Chapel at Mulhearn 
Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Chad Merrell officiating. 
Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun, LA.

Mr. Madden died Sunday, December 14, 2014, near Alexandria, ND. He served 15 
years of service for the Louisiana Army National Guard obtaining the rank of E6 
SSG. Mr. Madden completed basic combat training in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO, 
followed by AIT training at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX. He was deployed 
to Afghanistan from 2004-2005 and received a Combat Action Badge. He also 
served in multiple overseas deployments to Honduras, Belize, Azores Islands as 
well as serving in response to Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, Gustav, and Ike. For 
his service in these events as well as his support to the Deepwater Horizon Oil 
Spill, Mr. Madden received the Louisiana War Cross, Army Achievement Medal 
(three times), and the Global War on Terrorism Medal among many others.

Clent worked for Black Stag Pipeline and loved his job. He never met a stranger 
or a person who he didn't believe deserved the chance to have a good job, and 
he was always willing to put his name and reputation on the line to make sure 
that people got their chance. He was a great friend, brother, son, uncle, but 
most of all, Clent was an amazing husband and father. Clent adored and 
cherished his wife, Mandy, and his two children, Annmarie and Hayden. He always 
made it known to anyone and everyone how much he loved them. He was always the 
life of the party and he made sure people knew when he entered a room.

Mr. Madden was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Farmer Madden; 
grandfathers, Harvey Maddens, C.W. "Sub" Hayes, and Jack Farmer; grandmother, 
Geraldine Farmer; and nephew, Hunter Madden.

Survivors include his wife, Amanda Duncan Madden; children, Annmarie Elizabeth 
Madden, Hayden Gregory Madden; father, Gregory McClentis Madden, Sr.; siblings, 
Tara Madden Fifield and husband, Quentin; Wesley Madden and wife, Dana; 
grandmother, Pauline Madden Hayes; mother and father-in-law, Leadonna and 
Donald Duncan, Sr.; brothers-in-law, Donald Duncan, Jr., Chris Duncan and wife, 
Brandi; sister-in-law, Lindsey Duncan and fiancé, Grant Cookston; nieces and 
nephews, James Fifield, Ethan Fifield, Cody Madden, Mayce Madden, Connor 
Madden, Alix Duncan, Canaan Duncan, Ainsley Duncan, Lyrik Bonner; and a host of 
aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, co-workers, and Military Brother and Sisters.

Pallbearers will be Brian Redding, Roman Rachal, Doug Sevier, Jeff Lowery, 
Spencer Stewart, Bobby Godina, Chris Duncan, and Donald Duncan Jr. Honorary 
pallbearers Chris Spruell, George Ray Smith, Jason Harvey, Grant Cookston, 
Brandon Blaylock, Julio Perez, Brad Smelley and Jason Johnson.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the 
funeral home.

The family is overwhelmed by the amount of love and support, from friends and 
strangers, they've received from all over the country. This is reassurance of 
how well respected and loved Clent was as a person, friend, and leader. They 
want to thank everyone who has given donations, time words of encouragement and 
prayers.

The family would like to send out a very special thanks to their "Angel on 
Earth," Jen Wilson, for the time, and effort she's put forth towards helping to 
make sure that Clent receives a full service military funeral. Jen has gone 
above and beyond to make things happen that would have never been possible had 
she not decided to come forward this week. Words will never be able to express 
the effect her generosity has had on Mandy, Annmarie, Hayden, and the rest of 
the family. Jen, you are loved more than you will ever know by a family who 
will forever be grateful for you just being you. Thank you. Forever.
