RALPH E. MAGOUIRK Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, La. Funeral services for Mr. Ralph E. Magouirk, 77, of West Monroe, La. will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday December 27, 2008 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA with Steve Cranford officiating. Interment will be in Hasley Cemetery. Mr. Magouirk died December 22, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Magouirk was a member of the McGuire United Methodist Church in West Monroe, LA. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1949 until 1952. After his military duty, Mr. Magouirk worked for Brown Paper Industries. He and his brother-in-law, Sonny Wimberley started Custom Machine Works in 1957, which he eventually purchased and has operated for 51 years. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He is preceded in death by his son, Lonnie Magouirk. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Alice Wright Magouirk; sons, Larry Magouirk, Chris Magouirk and wife Kris, Kelly Magouirk and John Patrick Magouirk; seven grandchildren, Amy, Lance, Jared, Hayley, Preston, Lee, and Devin; sisters, Dorothy Rodgers and husband Joe, Peggy Wimberley and husband Sonny; brothers, Charles Magouirk and wife Marty and Jimmy Magouirk and wife Linda, several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Joe Rodgers, Sonny Wimberley, Preston Magouirk, John Patrick Magouirk, Chris Magouirk, Steve Wimberley and Charles Magouirk. Honorary Pallbearer will be Gary Downs. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Memorials may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of West Monroe, LA.
