He was born August 8, 1920, in Fountain Hill, Arkansas, the son of Carl Columbus Malloy and Mary Louise (Ogletree) Malloy. In 1951, in Little Rock, Arkansas, he married Johnnie Mae Harris, who preceded him in death in 1972. Mr. Malloy was a respected carpenter and was a lifetime dues paying member for over 50 years with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local #1811. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the McGuire United Methodist Church, West Monroe, Louisiana. Auston loved his family, was a fun-loving person and enjoyed his "nursing home" family. Survivors include 2 daughters, Wanda Gay Seward and her husband, Tennie, Windsor, Mo.; Pamela Kay Foster and her husband, J.W., Downsville, Louisiana; a son, Lyle Auston Malloy, Jr., state of Louisiana; 2 grandchildren, Emily Louise Foster and Elijah Jerrell Foster; 2 brothers, Joe Roy Malloy, state of Washington; George Edward Malloy, state of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins including a special niece, Rebecca Riser, that was raised by he and his wife, Johnnie. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Terrill Culpepper; 2 brothers, Carl Columbus Malloy, Jr.; John Harold Malloy; 2 sisters, Martha Louise Stuckey and Annette Paulk. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the Hasley Memorial Pavilion, West Monroe, Louisiana under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
