Her quilts have kept us warm in the cold, have served as pallets for our sleeping babies, celebrated weddings, told stories, and even transformed our babies' clothes and grown up clothes into memories for generations to come. Our homes are embellished with every stitch from her creative hands. The soul of Mildred Estelle "Billie" Malson, left this earth after a short illness on November 8, 2014. She was a resident of St. Joseph Nursing home. She is preceded in death by her husband, James S. Malson, Sr.; her parents, Howard and Anna Smith; and six siblings. She is survived by two sons, Robert Malson and wife, Yvonne, of Bastrop, James Malson, Jr. and wife, Betty of Monroe; and daughter, Susan Jackson and husband, Barry of Harlingen, Texas. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, the granddaughters are: Tabatha DeShazo and husband, Chris; Katie Morstead, and husband, Rolf; Anna-Marie Weis and husband Eric; and Gracie Suadi and husband, Carlos. Grandsons are: Jeremy Malson and wife, Kate Marie; George Jackson; Elton Jackson and wife Sandra; David Jackson; Luke Jackson and Stone Jackson. She had nineteen great grandchildren. Now we bid you adieu and thank you for the threads that bind our family together while we remember your wonderful gift of color, pattern and genius. From our hearts to yours...REST in PEACE. Her life will be celebrated at a graveside service on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at 3:30 PM at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, 623 Highway 80 East, Monroe, LA, with Rev. Barry Jackson officiating.
