Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday February 19, 2013 with Reverend Paul McComack officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. She was born September 11, 1945 in Monroe, LA. Helen cared for her mother for several years as she battled dementia until she herself became too ill to do so. They loved shopping and going out to eat together. She was preceded in death by her son Bennie Keith Freeman; father and mother, Sherman and Nellouise Martin; two nieces and one nephew; all whom she loved dearly. She is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Lohse of Enid, Oklahoma; two sons, Steven Freeman and wife Lea Hardie and Gregory Freeman; special grandchildren, Bennie Keith Freeman, Jr. and wife Amber, Sarah Freeman, Andrew Freeman, Greg Freeman and Chadd Lohse; sister Rebecca Tate; brothers, Ruben Martin and Wayne Martin and wife Barbara; longtime companion Elton Bourque; special friend Bertha Upshaw; six nephews; and two nieces. The family would like to thank all their friends for their prayers and support. Also, thanks to Dr. Rickman, nurse Mitch and others at St. Francis CCW on the skilled nursing floor. Pallbearers are Sherman W. Martin, Brandon W. Martin, J. R. Kinney, Michael Pipes, Mark Pipes, and Calvin Marceaux. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Pipes and David Pipes. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 PM on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.
