Betty was born in Delhi on September 4, 1928, to Tom and Norah Crane and departed this life on April 28, 2014. Her burial will be in the Delhi Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Delhi. A graduate of Delhi High School, she attended Oregon State University and married Buddy Martin on May 26, 1947 in Rayville, LA. Betty took pleasure in caring for her family, her home, beautiful four-acre yard and swimming pool. Throughout the years, she loved entertaining friends and opening her home to her family's numerous hunting guests. In 1956, as a member of the Delhi Jaycee-Jaynes, she and several of her close friends were instrumental in founding the first annual NELA Livestock Show Beauty Pageant, which continues to be an integral part of the yearly festivities of the Show. Betty was a member of the Delhi Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Donald Crane and wife Vicki of Natchez, MS; sister, Katherine Crane Condon and husband Bob and nephew Tommy Condon, all of Portland, OR. Survivors include her husband of nearly 67 years, J. H. "Buddy" Martin of Delhi; children, Mike and wife Judy; Greg, all of Delhi; Kim Martin Carson and husband Bob, of Monroe; son Dean and wife Deborah of Red Burns, TN, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was lovingly referred to as "Bees" by her eight grandchildren: Andy Martin and wife Jenny, West Monroe; Brad Martin and wife Brooke, Ruston; Erin Martin Smith and husband, Brad; Stan Martin and wife Amanda, all of Delhi; Judd Martin and wife Kellie of Senora, TX; Wade Martin and wife Amye of Eros, LA; Drew Carson and wife Calley; and McCaslin Carson, all of Bossier City, LA. Step-Grandchildren Travis Riggins and wife Karena, Red Burn, TN; Ginger Riggins Huffines and her husband Adam, White Bluff, TN. Betty was also proud of her 12 great grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to: The Alzheimer's Association , P. O.
