MARTIN Visitation will be held for Mr. Terry L. Martin on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 1:00 PM followed by a celebration of his life at 2:00 PM. Both events will be held at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, Highway 80 East, Monroe. The Presbyterian, Reverend, Doctor George Wortham will officiate under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe. Terry was born December 20, 1944 and went home to be with his Heavenly Father, Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 2:00 AM. He graduated from WMHS and received a BA in History from ULM, and a Master's Degree in Political Science from LSU while working for the Louisiana Legislature where writing statutes was his specialty. Always an avid fan of sports he enjoyed the Warhawks, Tigers, and Rebels, but most especially he loved watching his grandsons Jace and Jett play sports. Professionally, he was a self-employed retailer specializing in gifts of china, crystal and silver. He was most grateful for his many loyal customers through the years in Monroe, Baton Rouge, Jackson, and Little Rock. He also served as Director of Security Bank and its' parent company Security Bancshares, Inc. He is preceded in death by his parents O.K. and Dorothy Martin; brothers, Daryl and Kenneth, Jr.; maternal grandparents, James Richman and wife, Canzada Parson; paternal grandparents, O.K. Martin and wife, Lilly Hicks; cousins, Lester Allen, Harold Bolton, and Carl Michael Martin; Uncle Carl Martin and Aunt Evelyn; and in-laws, W.J. Webb and Georgia Kilpatrick. He is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Georgianna; daughter, Lori Bernard and husband Stan; son, Todd Martin and wife Dawn; and his prized grandsons, Jace and Jett Bernard; and of course, any and all future grandchildren of whom he loves dearly even before their arrival into this world; his paternal Aunt Joan Allen of Little Rock and many cousins, all of whom were his favorites.
