Burial will follow in Vienna Cemetery in Vienna under the direction of Owens Memorial Funeral Home of Ruston. Mrs. Martin was born in Rockford, IL on October 6, 1957. She died May 7, 2010 in West Monroe. Mrs. Martin was a nurse working at Glenwood Regional Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center. She was a loving and caring person to family, friends and patients. Mrs. Martin is survived by her father Henry A. Pilcher; her husband of 32 years, John W. "Bill" Martin; three children: Sherri Salsbury and husband Kevin of Farmerville, John W. "Billy" Martin, Jr. and wife Amanda of Jensen Beach, FL, Dusty Martin and wife Brittany of West Monroe; three grandchildren, Connor Martin, Avery Salsbury and Ainsley Salsbury; one sister, Patricia Morris and husband Gary of Farmerville; two brothers, Kenneth Pilcher and wife Lora of Charleston, SC and Richard Pilcher of Vicksburg, MS; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. She is preceded in death by her mother Bonnie Naomi Pilcher and sister Jenny Bishop. Pallbearers will be Ben Howe, Kyle Sanderlin, Brooks Scheppf, B.J. Townsend, Jesse Nickelson, Donald Furlow, Sam Coon and Ray Pickering, Jr. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Monday, May 10, 2010 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston.
