John Saunders and Bro. Truman Stagg officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow at Enterprise Cemetery. Mr. Mashaw was born on April 3, 1928, in Pelican, Louisiana, and passed away January 28, 2013. Louis is a veteran of WWII, having served in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Upon return to civilian life, he was employed by Commercial Solvents in Sterlington, Louisiana, and had a long career with IMC as a supervisor. He was a 32ND degree Mason and member of Farmerville Masonic Lodge, the Eastern Star and a Shriner associated with Barak Shrine Center in Monroe, LA. Mr. Mashaw was also a member of Farmerville United Methodist Church where he especially enjoyed Wednesday night supper with the Methodist Men's Club. Louis' favorite hobbies included hunting and fishing in the great outdoors, where he enjoyed the quietness and solitude that only nature could provide. He also enjoyed conversations with family over the dinner table. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Mashaw and parents, V.A. and Grace Mashaw. Louis is survived by his daughter, Lisa and husband Don David Wilkes and grandchildren, David Wilkes and Crystal Wilkes. He is also survived by his two brothers, Don Mashaw and Sam Mashaw and wife, Ruth. Also surviving Mr. Mashaw is his sister-in-law, Sue Sanders and husband, John Saunders, all of Farmerville; brother-in-law Wallace Graves and wife, Joy of Sterlington; an aunt, Marjorie Woods of Pleasant Hill; and his close life-long friend, Wayne Giddens. Pallbearers will be Stein Baughman, Donovan Saunders, Clifton Hall, Johnny Bo Mitchell, Bill Patterson, and Joe Platt. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 30, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.
