She was born in Rayville, Louisiana on May 12, 1930. Preceded in death by husband, Vernon E. Maxwell, parents Lou Johnson Dillard and Belton Dillard Sr., three brothers Belton Dillard Jr. of Rayville, LA, Thomas Dillard also of Rayville, and J.C. Dillard of Tallulah, LA. She is survived by three sons and their wives Max and Margaret Maxwell of New Orleans, Gary and Becky Maxwell of The Woodlands, and Glenn and Ann Maxwell of Mandeville, LA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Meredith and Miles Maxwell of New Orleans, Allison Maxwell of Cincinnati, OH, Elizabeth and Emily Maxwell of The Woodlands, Sarah Beth and Cassie Maxwell of Mandeville, LA, Kristie and husband Chris Rockhold also of Mandeville, Keith and wife Melissa Keller of Denham Springs, LA, along with four great-grandchildren, Rylie and Avery Rockhold of Mandeville, and Corey and Leah Keller of Denham Springs. "Dot" was an active volunteer of The Arthritis Foundation, Louisiana Chapter, serving both on the Governing Board and as Public Relations Director. While in The Woodlands, she tirelessly volunteered with the Montgomery County Women's Center. In 2011 she was honored as one of the recipients of the Women of Distinction Award. She was a member of Colonial Dames Seventeenth Century, Fort Miro Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, Ouachita Rangers Chapter 2446 of United Daughters of the Confederacy, Montgomery County Women's Center, Christ Church United Methodist of The Woodlands, and Christ Way Bible Church of The Woodlands. A Memorial service for Dot will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23rd at Oak Haven Apartment Homes in Shenandoah, Texas with Pastor Bill Hamlin presiding. Burial will be at a later date in her hometown of Rayville, Louisiana. The family requests that any memorials be made to the Montgomery County Women's Center.
