Memorial services for George G. McCallum, Jr., 81, of Monroe will be held at 
3:00 PM Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Bethel Assembly of God, Monroe with Brother 
Frank Sellers officiating.

George McCallum passed away Saturday, June 7, 2008 at his residence after a 
lengthy illness. He was a WWII Vet and a member of the DAV and the American 
Legion organizations. He loved to hunt, fish, and garden. But in his later 
years, he did his hunting, fishing, and gardening on TV. He loved his church, 
God, and his family and his loving wife. He was preceded in death by his 
parents, George G. McCallum Sr. and Vivan McCallum; sister, Normi McCallum 
Thorn.

Survivors include wife, Ruth Marie McCallum; three children, Huey Bayles and 
wife Carolyn of Monroe, LA, Ernestine Reeves and husband David of Macon, GA, 
Jeanie Gilbert of West Monroe, LA; four grandchildren, Patrick Bayles of 
Monroe, LA, Jessica and R.T. Gilbert of West Monroe, LA, Valerie Breazeal of 
Macon, GA; five brothers, Kenneth McCallum and wife Carolyn of West Monroe, 
LA, Charles McCallum and wife Elaine of Swartz, Allan McCallum of Monroe, LA, 
Phil Hill and wife Pat of Swartz, LA, Richard Hill and wife Dianne of Swartz, 
LA; two sisters, Peggy Stout of Zowille, LA and Ailene James and husband Wayne 
of Swartz, LA; numerous nieces and nephews.
