DANIEL WILLIAM JR. MCCARTY


Funeral services for Daniel William "Boone" McCarty, Jr. will be held at 2:00 
PM Sunday, September 3, 2017 at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, 
LA with Rev. Todd Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Welcome Home 
Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be on Sunday from noon until time of 
service at the funeral home.

Daniel William "Boone" McCarty, Jr. was born in Columbia on July 20, 1947 to 
the union of his parents, Daniel McCarty, Sr. and Frances Floweree McCarty. He 
passed away on September 1, 2017 at his home in Harrisonburg. Boone was an 
active member of Wallace Ridge Pentecostal Church in Jonesville and was a 32nd 
Degree Mason. He was a decorated Vietnam Veteran having received the Purple 
Heart and numerous other medals. Boone was an avid hunter and fisherman. He 
loved his family, especially his babies. He will be greatly missed by all who 
knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, 
Tommie Lane Woods McCarty; his brother, Paul David McCarty; step-father, Lawson 
Walker and grandparents, Charlie and Juanita Shell.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Emma Bartmess McCarty; son, Daniel 
William McCarty III and wife, Kathryn; daughters: Erin McCarty Davezak and 
husband, Boyd and Vicki McCarty Brunson; grandchildren: Maddie McCarty, Daniel 
William McCarty IV, Lindsey Fontenot, Daisy Brunson, Will Davezak and Dean 
Davezak; also numerous step-children, nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Ruddell, Mike Pollard, Larry Dean 
Humphries, Wayne Reeves, Mark May and Kyle Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Carl 
Comeaux, Earl Nelson and Rob Whitehead.
