Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mrs. McCoy died Monday, July 28, 2014, at The Oaks in Monroe. In her past years she worked at Camp Shelby as a stenographer to the Doctor's staff at the training camp during World War II. Mrs. McCoy served the Eastern Star as a Worthy Matron and was the WMU President at First Baptist Church downtown. Mrs. McCoy was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon T. McCoy; and son, Vernon B. McCoy. Survivors include her daughters, Connie Cooper, Carole Anderson (Andy); son, Melvyn McCoy (Dianne); daughter-in-law, Pat McCoy; brother, James B. Oliver and his son, Bill Oliver; grandchildren, Deborah Gilreath (James), Lance Anderson (Becky), Eric Anderson, Deanna Anderson Biggs (Stephen), Mandy and Matthew McCoy, Britt and Bradley McCoy; and great grandchildren, Meredith and Donovan Johnson, Layton and Landon Anderson, Samantha, Morgan, and James Anderson, Olivia Biggs, and Brooks Oliver McCoy. Visitation will be 2:00 PM until service time, Thursday, at the Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Monroe.
