HELEN HOLMAN MCCRORY

Helen Holman McCrory was born on March 3, 1932 in Baldwin County, AL and passed 
away on September 14, 2015 after a lengthy illness. The family will receive 
guests from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Thursday September 17, 2015 at 
Kilpatrick Funeral Home, 1200 Lamy Lane Monroe, LA 71201. Graveside services 
will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Pensacola Memorial 
Gardens, 7433 Pine Forest Rd., Pensacola, FL 32526.

Helen moved to the Monroe area from Gulf Breeze, Florida in 1989 with her 
husband, Vernon "Bodie" McCrory, editor of the Monroe News-Star, and later 
publisher. Helen was a registered nurse her entire 40 year career. After moving 
to Monroe, she worked two years as head nurse at St. Frances Hospital. After 
retirement she was active in the Monroe Beautification Board, Monroe Garden 
Club, and the Republican Women's Club. She also traveled extensively in Europe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon "Bodie" McCrory and by her 
daughter, Tracy McCrory Council.

She is survived by 2 children; daughter, Susan McCrory Simpson and son John 
Patrick McCrory and 1 granddaughter, Mallory Elizabeth Council.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Vernon W. McCrory Scholarship 
Chair at the University of Louisiana, Monroe, LA.
