SAMUEL LOUIS MCDANIEL

Services for Mr. Samuel Louis "Skeet" McDaniel, 82 of Gilbert, LA., will be at 
10:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2016 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Gilbert, 
with Bro. Nolan LeBeaux and Bro. Don Blackmon officiating. Interment will 
follow in the church cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of 
Winnsboro.

Mr. McDaniel was born on August 25, 1933 and passed away from this Earth on 
Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at his home in Gilbert, LA surrounded by his family.

Skeet was a retired Ironworker and cattleman. He retired from the Local 623 
Union in Baton Rouge, LA.

During his retirement he raised and tended to cattle, had a love for horses, 
and spent many hours sipping coffee on his back porch and loving his daughters, 
grand and great-grandchildren. He loved to sing and play his guitar. Skeet was 
an active member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church, where he led music and was a 
deacon, and served on several committees.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sammy Lea McDaniel and Gladys McDaniel; 
his loving wife and best friend of 58 years, Ernestine McDaniel; and daughter, 
Terri Lea McDaniel Martin.

Survivors to cherish his memory include his daughter, Karen Breckenridge and 
husband Doug of Monroe, LA.; grandchildren, Joni Fontenot and husband Jody 
Fontenot, of Paradise, TX, Kelli Ezell and husband Shawn of Gilbert, LA, Brooke 
Slaughter and husband Michael of Winnsboro, LA, Matthew Meredith of Shreveport, 
LA, and Stephen Meredith of Houma, LA,;and a son he never had, Gary Martin, of 
Gilbert, LA; 6 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are: Blake Ezell, Shawn Ezell, Garrett Fontenot, Jody Fontenot, 
Michael Slaughter, Matthew Meredith, Stephen Meredith and Ryan Ezell.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Gary Martin, Randy Sewell, Jack Gallup, Marshall 
McFarland, and Leon McIntyre.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28th at Mulhearn 
Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
