Reverend Warren Eckhardt and Father Job will officiate the services. Interment for the family will follow at the Bethel Cemetery at Holly Ridge, Louisiana under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.at North Monroe Baptist Church. Patsy Ruth Crain McDonald was born August 8, 1940 at Rayville, Louisiana to the late Vernon Crain and Mary Fife Crain. She passed away, surrounded by her family, on May 9, 2015 at the Stoneybrook Assisted Living in West Monroe, Louisiana. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lavelle Crain. Patsy was a native of Holly Ridge, Louisiana where she graduated from Holly Ridge High School. She graduated with a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Louisiana-Monroe. She did additional post graduate work at Auburn University. She began her teaching career at Pioneer Elementary School in West Carroll Parish before moving to Morehouse Parish where she taught at Bastrop Central Junior High, Westside Elementary, and Oak Hill Elementary. She moved to Monroe and taught in the Monroe City School System for a number of years ending her teaching career serving as Principal of Cypress Point University Elementary School. While serving as Principal she developed a special relationship with the students and administration of Louisiana Baptist Children's Home. Her hobbies included sewing, reading, tending to her rose garden, and spending time with her two grandchildren. Mrs. McDonald is survived by her husband, Dr. Charles R. McDonald of Fairbanks, Louisiana; her son, Scott McDonald and his wife, Leazel McDonald of Monroe, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Tucker McDonald and McKenzie McDonald, both of Monroe, Louisiana. She is also survived by two brothers, Max Crain and his wife, Louise Crain of DeVille, Louisiana and Lloyd Crain and his wife, Carol Crain of Chatham, Louisiana. Serving as pallbearers are Bruce Crain, Allen Crain, Pat Murphy, Cliff Carroll, Donovan McDonald, and Brian Moreau. Honorary pallbearers will be Bernard Sager, Larry DeBlieux, Ron Bush, Bruce Hanks, Eric Mahaffey, Kris McKoin and Mike Gammill.
