II. MCGEE Services to honor the life of Mr. David H. McGee, II, 88, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. David was born in Monroe, LA on January 10, 1927, and passed away in Vivian, LA on June 18, 2015. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, having enlisted at the age of 16, and completed his Naval Officer education at Tulane University. David also graduated from LA Tech's Engineering Dept., and obtained his Master Degree from the University of Houston. He enjoyed a thirty year career in natural gas production, distribution, and storage in Texas, Nebraska, and Louisiana. He also owned and operated McBray Equipment in Bossier City. David also enjoyed classical music and opera, and was an avid sportsman, gun collector, wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mr. McGee is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Clark McGee and Alma Smith McGee; and his brother, Edward McGee. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 32 years, Jeanette; sons, David H. McGee, III and wife Laurie, and George McGee; daughters, Melanie McGee, Connie Raines, and Donna Cole and husband Dennis; brother, George McGee and wife Claudine; ten grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Honoring Mr. McGee as pallbearers are Aaron Nims, Cody Jones, Matthew McGee, David McGee, IV, John McGee, and Charles McGee. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Haynes, Dr. Ragsdale, and the nurses and staff of North Caddo Medical Center for their excellent care of Mr. McGee.
