She went to Glory on February 20, 2016 in Bradenton, FL. In between those dates, she had a complete and magnificent life. She attended Southeastern at Memphis and LSU, where she was a member of Alpha sorority. She graduated with a Bachelor degree in Education and taught in Fort Worth, TX. She felt the first nudge towards the ministry and entered in VA and earned her Master of Religious Education. She was a DCE in New Orleans and Lake Charles, when she met the love of her life, Charles LeRoy McGehee Jr. They had two children, Margaret Carroll McGehee Hall and Elizabeth Ann McGehee. After moving to New Jersey where they raised this family, Betty felt a stronger call and went to Princeton Theological Seminar, focusing on pastoral counseling, where she earned her M.DIV. She also served on the staff of Nassau Pres. in Princeton. After moving back to LA; she answered the call to serve as the Northeast United Campus Ministries minister for 6 years. She then served as an interim minister in churches in LA and AR, preparing congregations for a new pastor. After Charlie retired, she was called to 1st Presbyterian in New Iberia. After many joyous years, they moved to Lake Charles, and after Charles LeRoy died she answered the call at Welsh. She finally "retired", and moved to Florida, where she enjoyed meeting new friends. Her family was her joy, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her two daughters, and her boy, her son in law, Ed; five grandchildren: Elizabeth Grace Hall, Laura Katherine Hall and her boyfriend Nick Cannady, Mary Margaret Hall Medlin and her husband, Timothy, Katherine Grossich McGehee, and Gray Douglass Hall. She is also survived by her beau, Bob Brungart. Services will be at Welsh Presbyterian Church in Welsh, LA on Saturday, April 23, at 2:00 pm with a reception following. Graveside service will be at 4:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Welsh Presbyterian Church. "Her life was lived by the courage of her convictions.
